Mandy is interested in the effect of DNA oxidation
on DNA-polyamine interactions. Additionally, Mandy uses in
vitro selection to isolate aptameric RNAs of interest to
the Burrows group. Specifically, these aptameric RNAs are tuned
to be capable of reversible functionalization with myriad small
molecules.
Mandy received her bachelors of science degree
in neurobiology from the University
of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.
Non-research activities include climbing, trail
running, backcountry snowboarding, and traveling with her boyfriend,
Tommy Chandler. Mandy
maintains a website of her own which expounds on this climbing
and playing business.
